Viewing the Northern lights (Aurora Borealis) at Hotel Hafnarfjall

Hotel Hafnarfjall and The Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, have a good relationship. Hotel Hafnarfjall is superbly located for viewing the Northern Lights in West Iceland and is within two hour drive from the Keflavík international airport.

As Hotel Hafnarfjall resort is located in a rural area, light pollution is not an issue during the winter months. We can easily off our external lights we can provide optimal conditions to view the sky at night and stargazing.

Although there is never any guarantee of seeing the Aurora Borealis, we figure that if you stay with us a few nights you have a fairly good chance of experiencing this wonderful phenomenon.
